November is Diabetes Awareness Month

Approximately 7 million people have diabetes--and don't know it. "You can have increased thirst, increased urination, just feeling run down--but unfortunately a lot of people never have any symptoms whatsoever, so they may not even know they have the disease," according to PacMed's Dr. Rebecca Over. November is Diabetes Awareness month, to help draw attention to this growing health issue.

Dr. Over also talks about how to identify and manage diabetes through programs like the Living Well Alliance™, which offers free workplace diabetes screenings and health education. For the complete interview, watch Dr. Over on KOMO4 News, below.

Dr. Over is the medical leader of the Living Well Alliance, a partnership of Pacific Medical Centers, Premera Blue Cross and the American Diabetes Association, dedicated to diabetes awareness and prevention.
