Pacific Medical Centers Appoints New Board Members
January 20, 2012
Pacific Medical Centers (PacMed), one of the Puget Sound’s largest multi-specialty networks of healthcare providers, today announced the appointment of two new additions to its Board of Directors – Karen E. Glover and Anne Redman.
“Anne and Kari offer PacMed many years of experience counseling corporate and individual clients in the healthcare industry as well as strong ties to the community,” said Harvey W. Smith, president and CEO of Pacific Medical Centers, a network of 10 locations in the Puget Sound with 150 primary and specialty care providers. “Their collective experience as well as strong connections to our region will prove very valuable to PacMed as we continue to grow our services for Puget Sound residents.”
Redman is a partner in the Seattle office of Perkins Coie, LLP. Previously, she was a shareholder in the law firm Bennett Bigelow & Leedom, P.S., where she also served as managing director. She has more than 20 years’ experience providing representation for healthcare providers and the healthcare industry. “I’ve talked to people involved with PacMed and they have all spoken highly of their experiences and appreciation of the organization,” Redman said, “I am looking forward to my new duties at PacMed and the change and stimulation it will provide me.”
Glover spent more than 30 years as a corporate healthcare attorney. As Firm Managing Partner of Preston Gates & Ellis LLP, she presided over the consideration of and merger with Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Nicholson Graham LLP to form K&L Gates in 2007, a global law firm then comprising 1700 attorneys. Glover retired as Global Integration Partner in 2009. “One of the reasons I admire PacMed is its desire and ability to serve a wide array of people in a sustainable way,” Glover said, “Harvey and PacMed have shown real interest in doing so in a cost effective way, which is key to the future of the healthcare system.”
Glover also serves on the Boards of United Way Worldwide and United Way of King County, Urban Libraries Council in Chicago and King County Library System Foundation, Myoonet, Inc., Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Whitman College, and VillageReach.
Redman has lived and worked in the Seattle area since 1974 and has served on the boards of Sound Mental Health, Seattle Opera Association, Bertschi School, Seattle Central Community College Foundation, Thomas C. Wales Foundation, Pike Place Market Foundation, and the Seattle Opera Foundation.
