DISCOUNTED FITNESS CLUBS FAQ Finding an affordable place to work out is never easy—until now. We are partnering with the GlobalFit Fitness Program to offer discounts of up to 60% on membership fees at over 1,500 fitness clubs nationwide. GlobalFit provides US Family Health Plan members and their families with the opportunity to join a health club without having to sign long-term contracts. GlobalFit members may have the ability to freeze, transfer, or cancel their memberships at any time. The following frequently asked questions will provide more details: How does the GlobalFit Fitness Program work?
How does the GlobalFit Fitness Program work? GlobalFit is a one-stop-shop where US Family Health Plan members can join the area's top health clubs at discounted rates of up to 60% off. Through the toll free Health Club Help Line, friendly Fitness Representatives will help members find the club best for them and will offer free guest passes to visit the health clubs. The GlobalFit program offers affordable, convenient, and flexible month-to-month memberships to quality fitness centers. Simply go to the GlobalFit web site, www.globalfit.com/usfhp, or call its Health Club Help Line at 1-800-294-1500 to find a fitness center that’s right for your specific needs. Once enrolled through GlobalFit, you can start using the fitness center after 12 noon the next business day. To check for additional special offers that GlobalFit runs, please visit: http://www.globalfit.com/reward Note that all enrollments are handled through GlobalFit and not at the fitness center. To receive your discounted fitness club membership, go to www.globalfit.com/usfhp and select “Click here to find a club near you.” Enter your zip code and register as a first- time visitor. You may also call 1-800-294-1500 to have a benefits representative assist you. GlobalFit can also provide a free Guest Pass to visit any of the health clubs, which allows you to try a club before joining. How soon can I start going to the fitness center? Once you have completed your enrollment online or by phone, you can start using the fitness center on the next business day after 12 noon. All Bally Total Fitness memberships through GlobalFit require that a signed Corporate Membership Agreement form is returned before you can start using the club. You also may be required by the club to show photo identification such as a driver’s license and your US Family Health Plan membership card during your first visit to the club. GlobalFit will send you a member enrollment packet, but you do not have to wait for the packet in order to go to the club. Monthly dues —The amount of your monthly dues depends on the fitness center you decide to join. By performing a search on the GlobalFit website or calling 1-800-294-1500, you can get information on monthly dues, amenities, hours of operation and location. Can any of my family members join the GlobalFit Fitness Program? The GlobalFit benefit is extended to immediate family members: spouses, domestic partners and dependent children under the age of 23 who live at home and are in school. Where available, GlobalFit has established couples and family rates. Where is the closest GlobalFit fitness center in my area? Using your zip code, you can perform a search on the GlobalFit web site or call 1-800-294-1500 to find a participating fitness center near you. What if there is no participating fitness center in my area? GlobalFit currently has over 1,500 participating fitness centers and is continually adding quality fitness centers to its network. If you don’t find a participating fitness center in your area, you may request to add a specific fitness center by filling out the club request form online. This is not a guarantee that the fitness center will participate in GlobalFit, but the company will try to bring the center on board as a participating GlobalFit network club. Does the GlobalFit Program involve any contracts? There is a membership agreement but no long-term contracts through GlobalFit. All membership agreements are month-to-month. GlobalFit also offers one-year, paid-in-full memberships to Bally Total Fitness clubs for an additional $100 savings. Please note that there is no option to freeze, transfer or cancel this membership before the end of its one-year term. How do I cancel my membership? You can cancel your membership at the end of the month by giving GlobalFit a written notice by the 18th of the month. What happens if I move outside the network? GlobalFit has more than 1,500 clubs nationwide. You can transfer your membership to any participating club. If no club is available, you can either cancel or freeze your membership for a nominal $10.00 processing fee. The freeze option is not available at all clubs. I am already a member of a fitness center in the GlobalFit network. Can I still get a discount? If you are a current club member, memberships through GlobalFit are not available. However, you can receive other discounts on supplements, home exercise equipment and nutritional programs offered exclusively through GlobalFit’s website. How long can I freeze my account? Members are allowed to freeze an account on a monthly basis up to six months in a membership. If you request to freeze your membership before or on the 18th of the month, your membership will be frozen for the upcoming month. Any requests after the 18th will not take effect until the end of the following month. The freeze option is not available at all clubs. How do I pay for my GlobalFit membership? All billing is done electronically through GlobalFit. GlobalFit bills on the 23rd of each month for the upcoming month. Charges can be made to a major credit card, or for select clubs, to your checking or savings account.
